When I first saw the movie (Walking in on it in the middle of a class showing it in school), I thought it was somehow related to Super Mario Bros because of the Piranha Plant.

My favorite musical. A lot of people quoting Mean Green Mother from Outer Space, the song from the movie version with the happy ending. So the original ending with Don't Feed the Plants:

Subsequent to the events you have just witnessed
Similar events in cities across America
