I know it's late to introduce this page. I wanted to fix the mistake of how his ability's limitations are introduced way too late and are addressed inadequately. By the time I knew I wanted the ending to go that way, I was drawing out the Xaphan scenes and I didn't know a good time to introduce it other than at the very end. But yeah, this explains his limits and why losing his sense of touch is so detrimental to him.
