The yellow crystal sphere must be flawless or it risks failure during flight. When energized the yellow crystals have anti gravity effects, its a small but critical component of a much larger and vastly more complex system. Flawless crystals of this type are extremely rare and valuable.

Yes, they have access to a ship. But it's more like a delivery transport for Sasha's company.. for delivery of Valuable medical research and imaging systems. Sasha only gets to use it on the weekends. Otherwise she drives a car like everyone else.. that drive crystal is on loan from the Government, it's far too valuable for anyone to own. It was only given to Sasha for her to be able to deliver medical supplies and equipment to remote areas. It gives her ship the ability to vertically land and take off with the power of standard jet turbines energizing the crystal drive.. push it too hard and it can shatter explosively. If your flight engineer tells you the crystal is out of phase. You best reign it in or a few nearby cities will be replacing all their windows.

I find it 90% good enough for anything I need to render. and it does it without having to wait for 30 minutes per frame for a final render.

Nothing like rendering overnight only to realize some tiny detail wasn't quite right.. with EEVEE I can see that within minutes.. and setup the scene WYSIWYG style.. and it plans for cross compatible node structure with cycles. So animations can be setup and tested in eevee render, then final rendered in cycles.

I've been loading .blend files from old blender in 2.8 and it seems to translate the nodes to 2.8 nodes and use them in eevee just fine.
I see on the material output nodes that you can pick whether you want that output in blender, or eevee, or both. So presumably you could set up two node pipelines, one for each.

Far from magic, the crystals seem originally part of some greater whole. Pieces and fragments fitting flawlessly together, although found half a continent apart. It's only recently discovered that some have some curious properties with storing and projecting energy. Sasha has discovered novel ways to do holograpic medical imaging with light passed through them, without using traditional radiation.
She even has a novel application for the technology in simple layered sunglasses.. powered and controlled by a standard cellphone it allows setting focal depth through soft and organic layers.. both the medical and espionage feilds have expressed their interest.. the demos are often amusing for her, watching their reaction as she demonstrates them in private sessions. it's a bit of a rose tinted view, but suddenly nothing is hidden from view.

The question isn't clear. Literal answer: Clothing covers and protects the body, Phina prefers not to wear it.
Technical answer: Clothing is another layer, normally you delete anything that isn't visible, so that nothing exists under the clothes.. The clothing is the top and only layer..
In my girls its added after everything is already modeled, rigged and weight painted for proper movement.
1) I copy the body (Select the desired area) such as the chest area (SHIFT-D to duplicate)
2) Scale it out along the normal by a tiny bit (Push/Pull)
3) Separate it out to a separate object (P)
4) Remove the body materials and apply a new cloth material
5) Edit the vertexes and add features and new clothing mesh a needed.
This way it keeps all the features, weights and texture coordinates of the body underneath, it moves with the existing rig that was attached to the original body.

Shrink-wrap is good as a temporary modifier to get something complex into position around a body.. like a belt, but the weights will be different, causing it to move ever so slightly out of sync with the body. It's small but looks obvious and awkward movements.
Shinkwarp tries to snap to a nearby surface. If it's left active in the stack during animation you'll see some interesting and perhaps amusing artifacts in character animation.. clothing will jump and pop between nearby surfaces as the character moves.
Shrinkwrap is useful during initial modelling for adding belts and accessories., and then applied and removed from the stack. It just gets in the way of animation, and adds to the calculation time of each frame when you're trying to preview your animation work.

When I watched the modeling video for that test model I started, I panicked when I saw all of the other stuff that needs to be done to the model like weight paint and such.
I do plan on trying to get back into trying to learn Blender when the 2.8 Beta comes out. I did grab a 2.8 nightly build and play with the sculpting a bit. It definitely feels drastically better. I have to learn the new interface as somethings did change.
