Shelter is important in a storm, but be careful. You never know what's lurking in the unknown.
Introducing my new character, Wave! She's a very cold Alolan Ninetales that lives on Mount Lanakila. She's also my first true Pred character. My others only ever do it for fun or out of convenience. But she's the only one who actively hunts for prey. This one prey wasn't actively hunted for, but she did give him a chance to get away.
Picture for the story
Blistering winds howled as the air grew thick and white atop Mount Lanakila. Even in the tropical region of Alola, the high mountain still saw its fair share of snow. Amidst the blanket of white, a large Bewear stumbled about, arm shielding his eyes while rushing through the blizzard. Need to find shelter… His teeth chattered as he pressed forward in the freezing weather. Through the snowy haze, a single dark hole came into view letting him smile in brief respite.
A cave! As he approached, the wind itself seemed to grow stronger, almost pushing him away from the entrance as he approached. Steeling his shivering body, Bewear pushed through, making it to the cave entrance and breathing a heavy sigh of relief. A large stone marker was buried within the wall with something engraved. “Keep Out.” It read. The winds started howling again; Bewear’s body still shivered as he ignored the warning and moved deeper into the cave, away from the painful cold.
Each step he took echoed in the darkness of the cave. Without a light source, Bewear just pressed against the wall and followed it forward, praying that he’d be able to find the way out again. The deeper into the cave he went, the more suspicious he grew. It almost felt like someone was watching every move he made. Every so often, he could swear he saw a small blue spec. Despite nerves acting up, he pressed deeper into the cavern.
The wall started to curve, Bewear following it faithfully. As he turned the corner, he could see two bright blue eyes glaring at him and almost vaguely make out a shape surrounding them. He stood there in silence as the figure stood motionless, no sound but the distant roar of wind. Realizing how quiet everything was, Bewear broke the silence with a question. “Who are you?”
“Leave. Now.” The voice was feminine, yet he still couldn’t make out who it was. And as quickly as the shape appeared, it left without a trace. Against its warning, Bewear continued to follow the wall, hoping to meet the creature again. The cave grew darker and colder as it delved deeper into the earth. Bewear sighed, tired, but wanting to continue. He could no longer hear the winds roaring outside due to the distance he had traveled. After what felt like hours of walking in the dark, a faint light loomed in the distance.
The light was blinding as Bewear entered the round chamber deep within the cave. Large glowing crystals of various colors jutted out from the cavern walls. Numerous tapestries from seemingly every region hung from the cavern walls. A small, neat bed surrounded by books laid off on one side. It was someone’s home.
“You were warned, intruder.” Bewear jumped, the familiar feminine voice from behind catching him by surprise. He turned slowly, afraid of what might be waiting. In the light of the glowing crystals, the voice was revealed to be that of an Alolan Ninetales. Her icy blue stare seemed to cut right through him.
“Who are you?” Bewear asked as he sensed the disdain in her voice.
“I am Wave. And you are not welcome here.” Her voiced lowered as she leaned close to the ground, a sphere of energy growing in her mouth. Bewear saw the blast and attempted to lumber out of the way, but his long trek through the snow and cave had made him weak and tired. The ice beam hit him cleanly in the chest, knocking him on his back. A sheet of ice grew around his body, save his head, pinning him to the floor.
“I gave you warnings to leave.” Wave meandered over to the partially frozen Pokemon.
“I was just trying to get out of the blizzard!” Bewear struggled, trying to break free from the ice.
“And I care not. This is my home, and intruders must be dealt with.” The blue Ninetales stood menacingly over the Bewear. Her stomach growled loudly enough for the Bewear to hear. “Bewear are rare on this mountain. It’s been far too long since I’ve indulged in one.” She leaned over and lifted the top of his head with her front paws. The last thing Bewear saw was the Ninetales opening her mouth extremely wide before his vision went dark.
Wave opened her mouth far wider than when speaking and stuffed the large incapacitated Pokemon’s head inside. With a strong gulp, she started swallowing him. Her tongue rolled over her prey, savoring the taste of the salty Alolan air. A large bulge formed in her throat as she gulped hard, the Bewear’s head gingerly sliding down into her stomach. Bewear tried to struggle, to get away from his voracious captor, but his arms were still trapped by ice.
She gulped harder, taking in his entire head and making her way down to his encased shoulders. Wave’s eyes glowed brightly as the ice surrounding his arms and chest shattered to make him easier to eat. But Wave was smart; she pinned his arms tightly with her forepaws as she forced his shoulders into her mouth. He was still trying to struggle, but she knew he had no chance to escape. Her mouth opened wider as stuffed his beefy arms inside. Her belly started to bulge outwards as the prey continued to slide down into her stomach. It was a delightful, heavy feeling.
With each passing moment, more and more of the Bewear disappeared into Wave’s waiting maw. She was taking her time, savoring the flavor and the feeling of her rare meal. She walked forward as she swallowed to make it easier to gulp down the large Pokemon. Her belly continued to fill outwards, quickly stuffed to where it was dragging along the floor. The cold stone ground pressing against her warm, heavy belly sent shivers down the Ninetales’ spine. She kept swallowing him, his small tail wagging furiously as it too slid down her throat and adding more mass to her gut.
Wave’s sagging gut had grown large enough to the point the couldn’t walk forward to continue gulping his struggling legs down. Her cold blue eyes glowed once more as a pillar of ice grew beneath his legs, raising them up above her head. Her many tails waved in delight as she lifted her head up and his legs slid down into her mouth. With a few more strong gulps, the bulge in her throat disappeared as her prey was now entire inside her stomach.
Wave let out a soft sigh of delight. Her belly was now enormous; the soft blue furred bulge pressed against the cold stone ground. Both her front and hind legs were incapable of reaching the floor, leaving her to simply lay in wait atop her stuffed gut. Bewear squirmed and struggled inside her gut, desperately trying to get out somehow. But she knew there was no escape. She looked around at the tapestries and books; all prizes from others foolish enough to not heed her warnings and had met the same fate as her struggling prey. The soft glow of the crystals, the weight and warmth of the Pokemon she had eaten, and the almost rhythmic thumping of the struggling prey inside her gut caused Wave to let out a large yawn. Eating such a large prey always took a lot of energy, and she soon found herself lulled into a deep sleep.
After what seemed like hours and with another groggy yawn, Wave’s eyes slowly opened. She reached down and felt both front and hind paws just barely reaching the ground. Her belly was still heavy and dragging along the floor, but she was able to walk at least. She prodded her gut, which felt very sloshy and heavy. The Ninetales looked at herself in the reflection of one of the many large crystals; she looked much fatter than before. Her large, smooth, and round belly was dragging along the floor, her legs and rear were much thicker than before, and even her cheeks looked like they were pudgier. “Digested already? Hmph, at least he was flavorful.” Wave sighed in bliss with her excess weight, her relaxation interrupted by the distant sound of another entering her cave.
“Another already? I hope they are not as foolish as this Bewear.” She poked her pudgy gut again. “And if they are, I hope they are at least as tasty.”
