Had a plan for this one but things have changed. SonicFox won an award for Best ESports Player. Been following him on Twitter ever since I heard "a furry won Xenoverse 2" and he's such an amazing guy. Overall, he's really inspiring. While he's been on his journey to this moment, he's always been himself. Even on stage, he's been himself. He's black, he's gay, he's a furry, and he's all those things openly and unapologetically. It makes me want to be my genuine self more, especially in environments where I'm only accepted as a "toned down" version of myself. Considering how SonicFox is a gamer, it reminds me of my time playing League of Legends. The autism jokes, the rape jokes, the gay jokes, etc. all pushing down on me. Meanwhile, here we have a hero who went above that just to be told he's "too political" etc. just because he's being himself in the face of a resistant subculture constructed around excluding the "other" and making horrible jokes about demographics they don't understand. I, along with many, many others, are proud of this lovable goof for being himself when people don't want that.
