Delcery Leopards:
The leopards of Delcery jungle tend to be barbarian jungle tribes, living deep within the jungle itself. Strong and tough, they make excellent fighters and barbarians. As a jungle species, they tend to be strong against head but weak against cold attacks. As with all felines, they have excellent night vision and can see even in the darkness that would blind most diurnal species. As a species they tend to be nocturnal, preferring to spend the days napping in a warm sunlit glade or high in their treetop villages, while the nights are spent hunting. As with most barbarian tribes, they tend to have close knit societies and value tribal kinship and protection highly.
Delcery leopard colorations range from a pale blue-white with soft gray spots to a deep burnt orange with black spots. Occasionally individuals appear that are all black or blue-black with darker spotting. The spots can be anything from light faint freckling, larger spots, rosettes and even broken stripes, but the typical pattern is dark spotting.
Because they have damage reduction to fire spells, many Delcery leopard spellcasters prefer fire spells. Not because of any innate ability in fire, but because it's just easier to learn fire spells when they are less likely to hurt you if miscast.
Although the leopards are primarily a barbarian people, the rabbits of Honath and Burath have exerted a civilizing influence on the jungle tribes, "taming" many of them as the tribes discover the advantages of civilization. Now it is not uncommon to find quite educated and civilized leopards living in the cities, although most of the species still reside in jungle tree-top villages.
While Delcery leopards have happily expanded their pantheon to include the gods that most of the other species follow, they have a special kinship with Bast, the sex goddess of the Anubian empire, and have even fostered her worship into the pantheon of the local cities. They also have a strong cult of worship around Eyaen, and it is not uncommon to find a tribe of leopards in a jungle clearing, preparing a great feast with much drink and food, in the hopes of attracting the attention of Eyaen's wandering party.
Species mechanics:
Delcery Leopards are a medium race and have +2 to agility, -2 to constitution, low light vision, 1.5 x cold damage, 1/2 x heat damage, +2 to all climbing throws, sense magic, 1d4 slashing barehand combat bonus, with no penalty for two-hand fighting when fighting barehanded. At GM's discretion, if GM feels a Delcery leopard has gone against their natural curiosity, the leopard has to roll a willpower save against their own intelligence stat or suffer 1d4 points of subdual damage.
Mekie kicks Na'Nfr's sword, which slides over the stone, the giant ant before her stepping quickly to avoid the "attack" as it clatters over to the swordsage. As Mekie backs away, the ant's head turns to follow her, the creature obviously planning to follow her as she backs away...when it can.
Na'Nfr, you're up. You have your choice of weapon - dagger or sword). The ant has not moved yet, but it appears distracted enough by Mekie that you think it is probably safe to pick up a weapon without incuring an attack of opportunity.

Na'Nfr widens his eyes, then gives Mekie a bloodthirsty grin as he scoops up his weapon, then makes for the attack with a snarl as his blade dances with that flourishing that sparks flames along his blade, the room's lighting suddenly a bit brighter- even if only for a round- as he attacks the ant with the sizzling business end of a large sword to give Mekie proper 'thanks'!
((Bast does exist in this universe. I've just not yet posted a profile for her. Sekhmet is the destroyer/war goddess aspect of a two-sided goddess. Bast is the other side of that - the goddess of procreation and fertility and house-hold protection. The Anubians are pretty much using the D&D Egyptian pantheon, minorly adapted to fit Evara.))
