The exiles from an enclave don't necessarily put much distance between themselves and their old homes; they are just marked as unwelcome, and undeserving of any protection or assistance from the rest of the population.
These ones tend to be those that cause problems for the human population, so the previous Matriarch let the human population know that there wouldn't be any hurt feelings if they decided to do something about these troublemakers.
There are believed to be at least several dozen exiles in hiding throughout the city.

Caedere for coloring/shading the characters on this page!

I mean Kass is right its rude to interrupt people when they are strangling someone, you need to wait until they have at least fallen unconscious before you stop them. Because until then it is just a VERY enthusiastic hug and you don't interrupt a hug.
Also Kass should have gone for the eyes, both eyes that is you can't leave a job half done.

Unlike comic books and RPGs, talking is not a free action that takes zero time. Next time you're in a fight, Kassie, shut up and FIGHT. You likely still would have lost, three-on-one, but you probably could have taken out that first guy.
Now your only choice is the Yinglet Scream. Dooo eeet...

Interesting how Kass' thighs and legs are considerably thinner than those of two of the yinglets carrying her, to the point I wouldn't even call theirs twig-like limbs.
Is that a normal difference between females and males, or is it just that these two yinglets don't skip leg day? :p

Hmm... if my fursona (as a Yinglet - 1 & 2) was in this, he probably would have seen what happened and do something to help Kass and Elim.
My guess is that since these guys are exiles, they might want to start their own enclave and for that they need females or otherwise it is not going to be a long lasting enclave.
Then again... was it these guys who seemed to have something to do with lopin? Maybe they are trying to make living by smuggling stuff they find from the same place where "zat zhing" was found. Hmmm.

also i am sorry but what the hell is he thinking just stabbing a guy once and just leaving the blade inside like that? is he not concerned that elim could just stomp on him given that the blade clearly ain't gonna take him down immediately that's like stabbing a bull with a knife once and being like "oh yeah this will do time to face and walk the opposite way" silly scav lol
So mystery Yinglet is named Brakk, nice to know. So their are Yinglet stupid or desperate enough to kidnap a female, I'm assuming they are exiles from the enclave. I'm guessing those exiles have some sort of leader to take her back to, if not their own rival enclave. And if they are willing to kidnap a female despite the consequences from Vizlet and her enclave, not to mention house Ivenmoth then Kassie is in deep shit.
Oh now why did those other yinglets have to go and ruin all of Kass' fun. Nice to see the surprised look on that jerks face when Kass went straight for the eyes. At first I had hoped that perhaps Kass had landed a claw into his smug eyeball and popped it like a balloon. But alas he still seems to have two functioning eyeballs. Hope that Elim will be alright and they will be getting Kass back from these jerks soon enough. And now comes the unbearable wait for the next episode. Such an unrelenting force that just pulls upon you as you just can't contain yourself to see what will happen next.
More in the sense of whether they would survive and what they would be doing to the framerate if you account for yinglet mutations and long-term selective breeding (then again that can be solved by tweaking the way they inherit stats and with a bit of conditional flavor text)
It would obviously need mods - basing them on the Goblin Fortress mod might be the best approach. Then again I have never played Dwarf Fortress, only read Boatmurdered (and few others)

Hah, still on a cliffhanger.
And I rather enjoy Kass' reaction through this and the last panel. It's not panic, from conscription war to foot grunts for a house. You'd think this guy has probably seen something, knows a few things about it. Sets right into what should be done, then goes right into strangling the assailant. Avoided the whole overly done panic done even with soldiers. Even if they are girly fluffy scavs.

Oh boy. Looks like some yinglet just ruined the yinglet's chances for integration with civilization. Nothing like murdering someone in the middle of the street and dragging a high-ranking official off into a hole to make your kind look like savages. Given that the only smart yinglets seem to be conspiring against the one thats arranging diplomating relations with the city I think them being considered barely above animals is a wise decision.
I have got to appreciate that line spoken by Brakka in the last panel: "Don't listen to her it wasn't fun." He is so understanding of his species's lack of intelligence that he has to override Kass's irony cause he knows they'll take Kass literally.
I always wondered how Brakka knew about Kass since we never see him get explicitly told about the Ivenmoth scav by a scav. I'll assume he was told, and that was all. So, I'm guessing he had to fill in the blanks. I'm sure many of his questions are about Kass and how he got his position, but judging by the way he speaks to Kass shortly suggests that he had already made some predetermined assumptions. Perhaps he's thinking Kass was a female taken out of her enclave and thrusted under House Ivenmoth's domain. I'm also guessing he didn't think Kass was intelligent. That's understandable considering the common yinglet's IQ is quite low, but what makes him think why this yinglet in particular is an Ivenmoth. Why is she so special? Because she's a female? That wouldn't matter to humans. An intelligent yinglet might have some worth. I'm also guessing Brakka thinks that Kass has no loyalty to Ivenmoth for him to not care about his guard's "death?" and to just leave with them like it's no big deal since he did not expect Kass's violent reaction.
