ah lol. I don't like nitros...I run electrics only...and given a half decent set up can out drive a nitro.
Electrics are also less maintenance...and they're guaranteed to start..they're just plug and play :P no needles or fuel or anything to mess around with...it's a nightmare working on nitros lol

but on the other hand the suspension works a lot smoother on nitro trucks because of the extra weight, and I'm not in the hobby to drive them, I'm in the hobby for something to tinker with in my spare time. I enjoy the time I spend at the work bench working on them. also I am running this truck almost stock, I had the close gear ratio in it so the top end wasnt as fast, and I totally blew away my co-worker's slash with a brushless motor. plus the handling on the slayer is better, like I said, because of the extra weight.
at times yes...but if you change the oil in the shocks and put in different springs you can drastically change how any truck handles...and speed depends on gearing at times. as well as battery in a n electric
What kinda battery was he running in his slash? and comparing a Slash to a slayer is kind of not fair seeming the Slash is 2wd where as the Slayer is 4wd and the Slayer has its weight spread out over the entirety of the truck where as the Slash has most of its weight behind the rear axle and down the center of the chassis.
the Slayer and Slash run in two separate race classes for a reason :P
4wd will beat a 2wd in almost every way to begin with. Now...I'd like to compare my Mugen Seiki MBX5T or my Revo against your Slayer....the Slayer still has a High COG becasue of it's short track (the distance left to right between the wheels on one axle) where as my MBX5T has a very low COG (It is after all meant for racing) and my Revo has Longer arms but still has the motor mounted fairly high
not to mention the Slayer has a much shorter wheelbase then both those trucks
I had an E-SLayer and I didn't like it...it rolled over too easily had too high COG..so I converted it to a REVO and was much happier...but now the REVO Is soon to be going and I have the Mugen MBX5T now.
In short: The Slayer excells in a few places but comparing it to the Slash is an unfair advantage becasue the Slash is onlyt 2wd...if the Slash was 4wd it'd be a much more even playing feild...
also Electrics have instant acceleration..where as Nitros have rather slow acceleration because they're not direct drive like electrics
what kind of battery was your co-worker running? If they were regular NiMH batteries (6,7 and 8 cell) then that's why...if he was running LiPo..then i don't know a brushless Slash running on LiPo will go like a bat outta hell (like mine :P)

actually his truck is the 4wd slash. the weight is the issue between nitro and electric. I'd just prefer nitro any day over electric. its called "personal preference" or "my opinion" for a reason. because it's MY opinion, it's what I like. for me, the advantages for nitro far outweigh electric for me. that and every electric i've ever owned has failed miserably. the electronics always failed.
that's true..Like I prefer electrics :P but compared to like 4-5 years ago..electronics have come a very long way.
Out of the 2 years I"ve had my 2wd Slash i've only had the ESC replaced..but it was under warranty. Heck I still have the stock servo in it that came with the truck..and it's only got plastic gears! and I've driven it over 200 times...i'm more of a driver I like plug and play kinda stuff lol i hated tuning nitros so that they'd run properly..>.<

I like the paint scheme, though I'd have done a tiny bit more of the green personally.
On the subject of nitro vs. electric, I like both, but without a local R/C shop, I'm not getting a nitro yet specifically because, when I buy a part, I want to put it on, not wait for it to be shipped, and nitro has the higher need for parts. I'm having enough trouble not going nuts waiting for the new motor for my Losi.
