As a follow-up to my previous "Throwaway Gag" - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/30200893/ - here is a second image I'd drawn inside another discounted greeting card, with a belated Christmas message to one of my anthroartist friend, Melody Rondeau of California...
Those of you unfamiliar with her work, she was a frequent contributor to "DBU" (short for "The Dallas Brawl Update") - where she used to draw gags with her 'fursona', 'Sister Rat'. I recall submitting a gag, pairing my bobcat 'fursona' with hers. You can see it here at this link: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7168405/
In the years since "DBU" folded, Melody and her husband Jim would send out unique holiday offerings via 'snail-mail'. Jim would create funny Christmas stories - with really bad puns - that he called "Elfl Tales", while Melody would mail (to a select few friends) a special cat calendar, with anthropomorphic felines engaged in activities (each month), associated with the calendar's 'theme'. (For example, the 'theme' for the 2019 calendar is "Nursery Tales" - like "Jack Sprat", "Jack Be Nimble", "Little Boy Blue", etc.)…
What I really like about Melody's cat calendars is that, in addition to her feline characters, each monthly page features a little mouse - who I'd like to think of as a rodental version of "Where's Waldo?" - popping up in some unexpected place.
Inspired by that character, I'd drawn 'Rob Cat' with the mouse inside another belated greeting card (with two real cats, dressed like reindeer, on the cover), as the two of them are found hanging decorations on a Christmas tree. I hope you like this image, as much as the Rondeaus (when they receive said card, any day now)!
