Barry finds his world turned upside-down by a vengeful ex-girlfriend. Not that being different is always a bad thing. Space travel exists but doesn't happen in this story.
This story contains TF into a wolf-taur, and it takes a while.
Part 3 of 4.
The term GELF stands for Genetically Engineered Life Form, and in this story it refers to beings that were genetically built from the ground up and are not 'born' in the sense that they have a mom and dad. GELFs are created by making an egg with a custom-made embryo designed for a specific task or application. All GELFs can talk, and although most of them are humanoid in shape none of them look exactly like a human (mostly for legal reasons). Most have fur or feathers, and snouts or beaks; many of them have tails.
GELFs have a contract of indentured servitude until they turn 100 years old. Since their lifespan should be around 400 years, it's considered morally justified. As the year this story is set is 2268, there haven't been too many GELFs that have died of old age. I have a bunch of thoughts about these GELFs, so if you have any questions, ask.
I'm borrowing the term from
chaz-fox although I'm not too fond of the idea of creatures without mouths or nostrils. The GELFs in my story are fully biological (they need to eat, breathe, sleep, etc), although they are usually slightly stronger, faster, and tougher than a human.
There is no universal numbering scheme for GELFs. Swear words are typically avoided.
