An old (2013) inked sketch from my friend  serenakitty that I slapped some color on but never showed anyone at the time. This is pretty much the only existing art of my character Mallory Ramsden. I created Mallory more as a private joke character than anything else, a riff on insecure men and the lengths they'll go to to protect their fragile masculinity. Mallory was big, dumb, naive, and overcompensating with a capital O—huge lifted truck and all that cliche nonsense. He wasn't irredeemable; I saw him as a college student trying to better himself, a rube trying to adjust to life in the city, someone who was capable of warmth and offbeat humor once he let his guard down, someone who would routinely get into humiliating situations but eventually come out wiser for it.
