When you go into a dungeon full of goblins to get a princess out
But it turns out Goblin Guard #284 was the princess' best friend 4 ever
(That's the one you got a critical hit on with your 2-handed warhammer and is now covering most of floor 7's walls)
Thanks as always to
Caedere for coloring/shading the characters on this page!

Kass: "So you better tell me where you got zhat stupid stone now and I'll make sure you won't die a painful deazh for zhis!"
Brakka: "... Really?"
Kass: "... Depends heavily if my friend survives zhis or not. You better pray zhat he does. Now tell me what you know."
On a side note even if Kass does get the information. I wonder if this plot will eventually turn into a conspiracy story where he has stop his shady leaders from stupidly turning everyone into Yinglets "because progress."

"Because progress"? It might be a lot more cunning than that. AFAIK, Yinglet females are rare to the point that they've adapted to bisexuality. Suppose the 'zhing' is part of a project to create more females by recruiting them from other races? A lot depends on whether it was fluke that Kass turned out female, mind...
I wasn't talking about the Yinglet's government doing that since as what you wrote it makes perfect sense for them, but I was talking about more of Kass' government messing with these things and them mishandling something they don't understand might bring about a Yinglet apocalypse or not mishandle and be weird with it by making it into a weird punishment thing or something.

I think we need a tag for these facial expressions at this point. I mean seriously you could pick any one of them out of a hat and make a meme from it.
EDIT: Side note that realization that not only did you stab and potentially kill a ranked officer of the ruling house (aka the government/police force), meaning you will now be hunted down with extreme prejudice. But you also managed to make you capture target even more stubborn than a female yinglet (and former human) already can be.

I've stumbled upon your comic about a week ago and I am amazed. Read it once on your site then re-read it here and on DA and all the comments. It is somewhat interesting how the general tone and direction of comments differs between the three platforms. Made this account just to comment on your work (I've lurked on FA occasionally in the past but never felt the need to have an account).
I do not like TF in fiction in general and stay the hell away from any TF erotica. At the same time I adore xenofiction. You handle the subject in such a way that it scratches my every xenofiction itch while still being fundamentally TF.
Your writing is superb. Not sure if you ever heard Jack Bickham's maxim "every scene must end in disaster" but you seem to live by it anyway. Your designs of everything - not only yinglets but every other species - are alien and at the same time convincing; in a certain sense it's humans who look out of place in this world (people have already compared it with Morrowind, but I think it's a flattering comparison worth repeating). You portray the society of Val Salia realistically dissonant with modern mores while neither idealising it nor condemning it (which means either you are a genius observer of a human nature, or you've read a lot of history; probably the second). Every named character is interesting and alive and seems to be hero of their own story, In fact I'd dare to say that many people could write someone like Kass or Elim but to maintain at the same time Isher and Yannit and Ran and Viracroix and Beizel marks you as extraordinary author.
I'll try to limit my fanboying about your drawing style. Your faces are absurdly expressive (and make for ready-to-use memery which is in fact how I encountered your art). Moreover - you seem to improve and improve and improve, Today's panel 6 could be a standalone piece of art - in fact it's hard to believe it was drawn by the same man who've drawn the page 1 of prologue while at the same time it's unquestionably in the same style with no jarring changes.
I'll need to stop myself before I'll embarrass myself more than necessary but your fanbase seem to be growing steadily - for every one of me there surely are many of those do not write but care nonetheless.
P.S If I have small questions about old comics - may I ask them here, or it's better to try to catch you on discord or somewhere else?

Maaaan, thank you so much for this writeup here!
Ironically, all but the very last couple drafts of the story/setting concept didn't involve any transformational shenanigans at all; interaction between various different species was always a main element, but after considering (just for fun) how a transformation might play out in a story like this, I quickly realized that it could actually work exceptionally well in this story.
And yes, a huge amount of this story is the way it is because I love me some anthropology, cultural development, and throwing in what-ifs to the mix.
I'm glad the element of just presenting things "the way they are" without comparing or contextualizing them in terms of the norms of modern society stood out to you, as that's been one of my main goals since day one. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with "this alien species represents Muslims or rich people or the Catholic church in the 1400s or etc etc" in a story to give the reader a different way of contextualizing something in current times, but I'd much rather explore the what-ifs of fictional cultures/species on their own merits.
The VS Discord is a great place to get info and talk about lore stuff, but FA direct messages might be the best format for questions!

So often in stories like these, the villain gets away with blunders like this as if it doesn't matter because the main character/author can never sum up the weight of the situation so well or think outside the microcosm.
THANK YOU! For not doing that. This story just got 100x better!

She forgot to mention that the female he kidnapped in that 'fancy' outfit, also marks him as a ranked member of the rulling house, AND, that crest on his outfit markes him as being even higher ranked than the guy he stabbed. Add to that his unique position, and both Viz and the tradesmaster might even consider her more valuable than some other officers or otherwise same rank.
Even if kass was just a 'pet', hmm, lets kidnap the favored pet of the leader of the city's rulling house. Thats always a good idea, I mean, no one ever started a war or anything over something so minor have they? On second thought, still a worst idea ever kind of screwup. Either way, if your plan is to bring down the wrath of the rulling house on your head, good job.

Oh! So, not even Brakka knows what the hell it is! Well, isn't that just great? He says what matters is where it came from. Didn't way back in the prologue Viracroix mention something about things of questionable origin turning up on beaches? *pause as I reflect* He did. How the hell did I remember that? I have literally read every single page once as I've been going along.
Suppose that's where Brakka got it. He didn't know what it was, so why pick it up? Did Narklet request it from him? Somehow, I feel as if Brakka could be investigating something himself. I've noticed that a few commenters have thrown this idea around that Brakka could have been a human, and I haven't been fully onboard with it. Suppose he was. He may not know what the artifact is, but he may know something about it like he knows what it does through the experience of a transformation. Then, could he have gone to Narklet for help because he thinks Vizlet had something to do with his transformation since she (assumingly) exiled him for whatever reason (that I want to know) and Narklet already doesn't like her for traditional reasons. So, they work together to find out what the artifact(s) is/are and what Vizlet might be planning. While at the same time, Vizlet and Beizel are investigating what Narklet and Brakka are up to. That would be very interesting if they are spying on each, thinking the other is the wrongdoer when in fact there is a third party: Viracroix. Viracroix. Viracroix could be up to something; I just know it. He's not all what he seems, but I can't find a motivation. Lately, it's been made obvious he's motivated by knowledge, but what could he gain from turning people into yinglets? Aside from Kass, obviously. Not only that, he acts all innocent about the weird turn-ups at the yinglet dig sites. Damn! I though that I had somethin' cookin'. But hey, that's just a theory. A COMIC THEORY.
And I'm not even done. I was gonna rip into Brakka some more, but this comment is getting long like a lot of mine have been getting lately. All I'll say is, perhaps bold wasn't the way to go. Where did that get you, Brakka? If you had gone with my subtle approach to kidnapping Kass (that didn't involve Elim getting murdered⦠maybe seriously injured, but still), you'd be receiving the answers to the questions that you have, unlike me. So even though my idea for capturing Kass was just a prediction. I was still right in a way!
