I've had these characters in my head for a long time with no specific plans for them, and I forgot about them for awhile. But I drew a red squirrel (of sorts) recently, which reminded me of them, so I decided to try to draw them!
On the left is Ashley Snow (or Ash for short). Both of his parents are regular yellow lions (he's leucistic, like real-world white lions), so his last name is just coincidentally appropriate. He's basically a nervous wreck -- insomniac, hypochondriac, OCD, overall neurotic, pretty much just scared of everything. Surprisingly smart and perceptive, but quiet and shy and skittish. Very polite. He's self-conscious about his scrawny physique and less-than-fluffy mane; he tends to wear overly-baggy clothes to try to hide the former, and hoodies to make the latter less noticeable (since the hood adds extra bulk around his neck, and of course he can just cover his head with it).
On the right is Nora Flynn. She's basically Ashley's exact opposite -- energetic, optimistic, outgoing, talkative, confident, brave and adventurous. Somehow the two manage to get along. She can be just a bit ditzy at times, but she means well. She saw Ashley sitting by himself and thought he looked like he needed a friend, so she made it her mission to get to know him and be that friend. And, of course, if anybody could get him to eventually open up, it's her with her exuberant friendliness, and she's understanding of the fact she's often the one keeping the conversation going. She tries to urge him to be a bit more adventurous and go out and do things with her, but she also tries to protect him when he's too scared.
Officially, they're just friends; unofficially, Nora sometimes playfully flirts with Ashley a bit, but he's too shy and nervous to flirt back, so it's unclear if she's just joking around or not. So, friends, but with the potential to be more maybe (if Ashley could just be a little less timid).
I'm not sure if I've got their relative heights right, since I can't even remember their exact heights (just that Nora's quite a bit shorter than Ashley...they're a lion and a squirrel, after all). And I can't remember if I ever decided exact ages for them, but they're both fairly young, probably in their late teens and still living with their parents.
I'm not entirely happy with this, since there's some issues with it, but I think I did okay at showing the different body language between the two of them. Also, FA really needs 'multiple characters' as an option in the species list, for pictures like this, so I don't have to just randomly pick one. >_>

I like both of their designs! Ashley looks extremely endearing and sweet and as for Nora, like I said before, red squirrels are the best squirrels.
They got a good dynamic, and I also like the way Ash's tail wraps around like that, really adds to the anxiety of his pose.

Yay, thank you! Ashley is basically meant to be just impossibly adorable, really, ahah. XD And yes!
And glad you think so, about their dynamic! They're a pair of characters who'd be fun to write/draw the interactions between, if I could come up with situations to write/draw for them. And felines are always fun to draw expressions/body language for, since I know them best of any animals in that regard.
