This is my character of almost two years worth of sessions from a D&D campaign hosted by my bf. The Lizard character, that is, I'll get to the deformed human later.
Ro-xiiva, aka Rox, aka Lizard mom, the Lizardfolk sorceress. Carer of comrades, spewer of acid, and abuser of the Alter Self spell (I'm having way too much fun with it). Rox, as I said, is a sorceress who mainly uses acid-based spells, as well as a couple of spells solely used for mischief (i.e. Alter Self). She left her clan after her twin brother was killed by Yuan-ti to find his assailants and bring them to justice. Along the way, however, she kind of lost track of what she set out to do, and ended up reading scrolls she found on a scholar who had met his untimely demise in the swamplands for a few years. The scrolls contained texts about various Sun Gods, and being a cold-blooded lizard, she took to worhipping these warmth-bringing Sun gods - All of them.
Skipping ahead a while - she joined up with a group of adventurers in a guild - Adrik Runaheim the dwarven Cleric, Ash the human carpenter/ paladin, Corric Gonads the elven ranger, Skamos the Tiefling rogue, Jade the Tabaxi ranger, and Therestria the high elf bard. Along the way they lost Jade to petrification, and had to fullfill a quest for a coven of hags, and travel to the Feywild to un-petrify him. The party's month in the Feywild translated to 29 years in the Material Plane, and shortly after their return, before knowing how much time had passed even, Therestria the Bard was slain by goblins. Our first official death in the party.
Fast forward through the death of Skamos, and Adrik's arrest, the party, now consisting of Ash, Rox, Gonads, Karinas the Gith Warlock, and Aika the Aasimar Fighter, found themselves in an old crypt now being used as a hideout for a cult of Tharizdun.
This is where the deformed human comes in. Among the slain cultists, the party found a dead woman used as a human sacrifice, and next to her, a chest containing a small, deformed newborn baby. The party decided to just leave it there in the box, but Rox, not wanting to waste fresh meat, decided to eat him. But picking up the baby and seeing just how pathetic it was - no scales, no fangs, barely able to keep its lulling head up - she decided to keep him instead. To be his caretaker, at least until he's able to take care of himself. Rox decided to name him Kosj, meaning "small" in draconic due to him being so small - lizardfolk are practical like that. Only days after taking him with them, Kosj started talking in a deep, manly voice. Mostly thanking "his mom" (Rox), for mama birding him, and occasionally omnious warnings.
Kosj lived in Rox's backpack for a very long time, learning from her that scavengeing is ok, and leaving a body to rot would be a wasted meal, and so on and so forth. Until a few sessions ago, when our party - now just Ash, Rox, Gonads, and Ulfgar Battlehammer the dwarven barbarian - ran into a few ghosts on a burial mound. Ghosts themselves aren't really that big of a threath to our party as we're all level 5-7, except for Rox. Though she is level 7, almost 8, she's also quite old for a lizardperson, 40 years old out of the around 60 years that lizardfolk live. Ghosts' "Horrifying Visage" ages the people who fail the saving throw by 1d4x10 years, so if Rox was to fail that saving throw and the DM rolled more than 1 on the d4, Rox would die from old age - which would be the worst way to go.
The DM rolled the die, 2! The ones who failed would age 20 years. Ash succeeded his saving throw, as did Gonads. Ulfgar failed, but being a dwarf it didn't phase him that much. Before Rox had the chance to see the ghosts' agonised faces, however, Kosj sprang up from her backpack and poked her eyes with his tiny infant hands, shouting "Avert your eyes, mother!". Kosj took the saving throw in Rox's stead, failed and aged 20 years.
Long story short: Lizard (Rox) found floor baby (Kosj), who aged 20 year becasue he got spooked by ghosts.
