Eye of the necromancer
The first winged eye stared straight through the thick fog, fixating onto one of the graves decorating the ancient and crumbling cemetery. Soon enough, the third and sixth eye joined it, fluttering lightly in front of the tombstone.
"This is it."
Came the cavernous voice of the tiefling.
At the sound of his words, the other four eyes joined the ones already at the grave, some staring at the stone, other watching the necromancer, expectantly. He came closer, bringing one hand over the moss covering the stone where all carvings had been almost erased by the wind and rains.
"Krextzald'Ath.." he whispered "Mistress, I have finally found you.."
He stood back up raising a hand to disperse the seven eyes staring before reaching towards his own face. His nails dug his flesh, the runes carved with fire on his dark burnt skin started glowing menacingly while the tiefling tried to severe his right eye from its socket. With the sound of a wet elastic being broken, the eighth eye was free and, surprisingly, not a single drop of blood was before him. He smiled.
The eye began glowing into his palms while he could feel the empty cavity in his face burning to a cold flame. Yet, he started chanting, giving his back to the tombstone he had so longed for and walking towards the exit of the cemetery.
The ball of light grew and grew. Some of the eyes kept watching with curiosity while the others disappeared through the night as if fearing the consequences of the mysterious actions taking place in such a forsaken place. A lighting opened the dark sky in two, letting the red light of the blood moon shine through the heavy cover of the clouds and landing right in front of the grave. The earth shook.
A small figure was now standing on top of the tombstone, razor sharp teeth glowing in the night, eyes glaring at the leaving tiefling.
"What took you so long?"
