this seems more like a promotion if you ask me. A. their freaking adorable and B. do you know how boring it is standing around all day staring at a wall. it's Soooo Boring and feels like forever. at least this way she can do something and feel like something got done since they started

they did... towards how inactive the Royal Sisters are in handling a crisis.

Rainbow Dash: "All the times we've actually needed their help, and they show up for THIS?!"

I think I made this comment before Season 9 came out. Thanks for mentioning this, anyway.
I was elated to see Celestia and Luna managing to help with the Everfree Forest — alongside Starswirl. I had desperately wanted a father or uncle figure as a major part of the rescue effort, as well.
I understand that “Sparkle’s Seven” actually pokes fun at how useless the Royal Guard has been — partially addressing the complaint that security is awfully poor.
