Well, I've put $50 into the 10 yards of fur for this one (on sale because I had a 50% off coupon and waited for the sale), wire was about $5, canvas would be $10, felt $5, floam another $5. Green foam at $10, then for the feet I'll need another big chunk of foam at $20.
Between that and all the other unexpected expenses in tools, glues, misc, I can see $400-500 in materials. Could be less depending on your needs and if it's a partial or full suit.
