Precisely! Quite honestly, that is likely one of the large forces driving him to hold on despite all that is being recalled upon him at this very moment by the demon. Go, Avis, go!
Avis can agree probably more than most, too, in how our lives are never free of regrets. However, as is his case as it is most of ours, it is what we do to improve upon those mistakes that makes us the better and stronger individuals we are today.
Put simply, it's never too late to do the right thing. Nope, nope, nope!

Ehehe, what a cool chapter! :D
The villain lady came back for Avis, and re-assured us that Ham-Ham wouldn't turn on him like that. (:
And we got to hear from the old King! He only got a brief mention in the last story, but getting a little image and Avis' opinion on him helps make more sense of things.
Before this chapter, I thought maybe the ghost of Ham-Ham was going to be a revenge-seeking Nishidor, but I like this turn out much better! You really played him and Fuxie so well! :D The bright smile and the toothy grins - and I think all the beak-beating was very Fuxie-like too.
I think there's a bit more to learn about Esperererano and Avis, but I think he's right - she might know the bad things he's done, but she might not be the suitable one to judge and punish him. (: Woop woop! Great work! I wonder how he'll handle someone that doesn't take much damage! D:

I'm really glad that you liked how this section turned out. Espersona is a big fan of psychological warfare and is hardly afraid to employ any tactic to demoralize her opponents into defeat. For this reason, it's a good thing Avis is made of sterner stuff than the average adversary. :)
As for the battle ahead, his inability to damage her is still quite an issue. After all, he is wielding a weapon that was blessed for just such an occassion and it has clearly done him no good thus far. Could his determination empower the weapon to work this time? Or, perhaps, are his sins too great for him to ever be considered worthy of wielding a tool of the righteous?

Even if Avis will do his best to rise against her mental torture, it's still fun watching villains that do that sorta thing. X3
And if his weapon doesn't work he's gonna need some help as soon as possible! ...Or maybe that book's gonna have to get sealed away sooner... hopefully whatever the solution is will come in time!
