So for this week, we aren't going that far back. To be more specific, July 31 of last year. This is when I made Felix.
Now, I know what you're saying. "That's not a throwback, it was just last year! You've had your FA account for longer than that!" And you'd be right. But Throwback Thursday is meant give insight into past characters and other creations. And I felt Felix's story was one worthy of being told, especially considering he was only supposed to be a joke.
The first project I had planned for him, and part of the reason as to why he exists in the first place, was for a punchline in a comic. The first comic I've ever made, actually. And I hate the thing. Nobody's ever seen the 'finished' product because of this. The joke falls flat, the face that was supposed to be funny at the end just lacks the punch I want it to, and... I just don't like it. Here it is, if you'r interested. He was designed to be an over-the-top, stereotypical furry. A catch all character to be used whenever I needed a "generic furry" to use, whether in a picture or a comic. No distinct personality, no style, no name. Just an empty husk to be used at my digression. He was never supposed to be his own thing. But the thing was, I spent a lot of time designing him. Far too long for a character that was only meant to be a joke. And the more I added to him, the more I tweaked and adjusted things, the more I became attached to him. And a personality started to develop. He's bubbly, optimistic, kind, and a bit naive. What he lacks in intelligence he makes up for with an abundance of charisma. He's the kind of guy that can sway the mood of an entire room with his infectious positivity. He also doesn't shy away for anything sexual, regardless of gender. His fate was ultimately sealed once I named him. He was no longer [Generic Furry Character #6].
He was Felix Eril.
And he's my boi~

Daw, that's cute. And i get how you can get attached to characters, i am attached to my fursona hehe. It's nice to see him pop in my notifications whenever you draw him, and that story, going from empty shell to actual character that has their own personality, only made me like he more^^
