I can never forgive 2014 Robocop for being PG-13. Also the taser pistol, and that ridiculous folding pistol AR. Also the political commentary is stupid.
But I really can't forgive the wasted potential of the whole drone warfare plotline. Also the sees-all-criminals thing that would render a robot cop pointless.
But most of all they break the cardinal rule of mind control. "The controlled CANNOT break free through force of will".
To paraphrase The Spoony One, "you know what, I'm sure the power of the human spirit can break the curse. All those other people with family, friends, loved ones, who transformed and killed all those people, I'm sure they just didn't WANT IT BAD ENOUGH!"
Robrocop gets the bad guy through the power of love and the enduring human spirit, Robocop meanwhile wins by BEING A GOOD COP!

It had potential, which made me extra angry because wasted potential is the worst potential.
I should say that, technically, all media has political and social commentary since it has to be about something, and everything humans do falls under those two categories.
But as for explicit commentary I think we can both agree that everyone hates half assed political/social commentary. I mean, everyone in Detroit is apparently being monitored all the time with high def cameras hooked up to facial recognition and no one comments on that.
More, no one comments on how no one seems to be monitoring the feeds until Robrocop gets hooked up to it. They installed it all but apparently they have no money for cops to monitor the system, rendering it pointless.
Also I guess everyone is just okay with Big Robrocop watching them, always. The bones are in there but they never seem to actually comment on the surveillance state, drone warfare, or even police brutality!
Robocop was mad to explore police brutality, HE WAS MADE TO COMMIT POLICE BRUTALITY! But no, can't include an actual commentary on the matter or it might scare away people who don't like that.
Political commentary is often eye rolling but gutless commentary is just bad.

myself, I would've gone with the box as Robocop, but that's just me. Looks kind of weird to see her with a male body with out female features. This commission must've been crazy expensive for all this detail. It's very well done. Dirty part is I immediately recognized it as the first Robocop movie in old Detroit, where they were in a back alley and trying to repair Robocop where he was all messed up and they did that bit readjusting is auto targeting shooting at jars of baby food. There was a Robocop animated series where he had a female partner who wore a Robocop body armor suit that she carried around in the trunk of the squad car, which made her look like a female version of Robocop obvious question immediately became why did only one officer have a Robocop suit, but needless to say the writers never thought of that .almost nobody remembers Robocop, the animated series. It's pretty obscure.
if you're familiar with Robocop the Canadian Robocop, I mean, man, did it ever get dark. Trying to remember if it was the third Robocop movie or the Canadian Robocop, television, movies, where they kill off all the supporting cast . They did a series of Canadian Robocop movies and a television series, each of which were filmed in Canada, hence why there were for do as Canadian Robocop. Trying to her member if it was Robocop three or the Canadian storyline where they kill Murphy's partner and the little girl that lived at the police station and most of the other characters.
This is pretty cool.
Interesting choice for the Robocop design to not look more feminine but at the same time metal breasts are not a sound tactical design in armor. They tend to redirect attacks either towards the heart region or to the throat or sternum. So, all in all it's good.
My only problem with this is just the memory of what happened to Murphy before he became Robocop, and how the director didn't pull punches with what was shown in that scene. The "Ne ne ne ne ne" moment is one I'd rather not mentally edit Judy into.
