Jamba grew up amongst a small group of rebels so unlike most zebra he is far from a pacifist havign seen violence pretty much his whole life. So when the Outcastes got involved in the conflict and deposed the local warlord he decided to join up with the Outcastes and has been in plenty of battles since then where he has proved his worth time again.

After the battle for Drum Town things quieted down for a while as the hyenas resupplied themselves and helped restore the town's defences, it was also durign that time the trade agreement was signed between the two factions. However as the time to move on grew nearer Rwanda decided to play a bit of matchmaker and dropped a few suggestions that Jehlani should choose Jamba for her new mate or at least carry on her lineage. Jehlani hasn't accepted yet as she is still grieving for her lost mate and herd but she had accepted Rwanda's offer to let Jamba stay in Drum Town as an ambassador for the Outcastes, plus as an experienced warrior he could be an asset to the town.

It took a while but eventually Jehlani and Jamba did grow closer and became mates after he became a local hero after several defensive battles. So the ties between the two factions were further cemented and morale in Drum Town has hardly been higher before especially once it was anounced they are expecting a foal. Needless to say Rwanda has been quite pleased with herself since then when her plan finally came together with some delay, though ofcourse she is also happy for Jamba who she thinks deserves to settle down for a more normal life after so many battles.
