Piggyland Piggy-Car / 'Ich' Factor I & II
This is yet another fragmentary piece that comes from a number of inspirations. The first part, namely ‘Piggyland Piggy-Car’ is a bit of whimsy that has two main sources. The first, or course, is a bit of diffuse inspiration from George Harrison’s song ‘Piggies’ which appeared on The Beatles’ 1968 self-titled album, aka “The White Album”, and was also a major source of inspiration for Charles Manson and his so-called “Family”, and the series of murders they committed in 1969.
This, likewise also comes from two further pieces of inspiration, one of which is the fact that Quentin Tarantino (he of the permanent foot fetish) will soon be releasing a dramatisation of the ‘Manson Days’, with the title of ‘Once Upon a Time in America’. The second comes from a trope about bad (especially Baby Boomer and Gen-X), poets who often had this ‘thing’ about, as the late, lamented Leonard Cohen put it in his 1992 song The Future: ‘And all the lousy little poets comin’ round, tryin’ to sound like Charlie Manson… And the white man dancin’.
Well, lousy little Gen-X poet here, so I suppose, ‘guilty as charged’. :P
The other main piece of inspiration comes from the old comic/cartoon trope of fabulously wealthy, stinking rich characters often being depicted as boars and sows, and generally travelling in chauffeur-driven cars with plenty of chrome, decorative bumpers and spoke-wheels, and sculpted fenders and running boards, or as someone I used to work with once sarcastically remarked: The more expensive a car is, the more curlicues it seems to have in its design.
And indeed, how very porcine are curlicues? From the tails of both boars and sows, to the infamous corkscrew penis that boars possess…
With regards to the ‘Ich’ Factor pieces, those come from two different influences. The first comes from an annoyed observation I made one day about all the times I’ve tried to peel an orange, only to have it fall apart into a big, juicy, and mostly inedible mess in my hands.
The second takes some diffuse measure of inspiration with the ongoing so-called ‘opioid crisis’ (and oddly enough, just as I was writing this, Prince’s song ‘Cream’ came over the radio. Spooky…

I love how satiracally cynical yet gut wrenching the second "Ich" factor was.
The first "ich" factor was so eloquently written that one can forget that it's about something as simplistic as an orange but nothing simplistic as the poem created about it
Overally loved all the writing contained in this~
Keep it up!
