Baldness can strike fear in any man’s heart, and lead a man to seek out desperate solutions. Such as believing an insect-seller’s claim that letting a certain type of mite lay their eggs in your scalp will stimulate hair growth.
Now he’s just got a bald streak down the center of his head and thus he potentially has a claim for untruthful selling practices, but that insect guy’s already moved on and is probably hundreds of miles away by now so whadda ya gonna do.
Thanks as always to
Caedere for coloring/shading the characters on this page.

I like your medieval medical quackery. All too often authors either have non-modern medics behave like modern medics without modern instruments, or just fall back to the position "if he lives, he lives, if he dies, he dies", when in reality at least for the last couple of thousands of years people would be actively treated for almost any complaint. Some of the treatments worked, some actually made things worse, and some did nothing but at least provided distraction from pain and discomfort and some peace of mind (and that is not taking in account placebo effects).
So is Galen officially useless, or Elim is just prejudiced and we're going to see some sort of redemption arc for him?

The funny part for me is that, after quite a few years as a medic, I have found that No one is picky about who treats them like someone in danger of sudden death. You'll drive them all the way across town while trying to keep them from bleeding to death. It's... funny afterwards. Afterwards...
That's something I adore about your works, the detail and character of your background fodder! As for Elim, I'm very relieved to see that he's in capable hands now and will hopefully soon receive medical treatment! As for the little rogue Yinglet, my question is whether or not he manages to escape before he's captured for questioning, and if he DOES escape from the Trademaster's staff, if he'll be intercepted by Vizlet's spy later!
