God I love how you do zombies, not gonna lie, those slack jaws and gauntness, it's such a classic look.

Interesting bit of trivia, the Reanimated from the Lovecraft story are not technically zombies, because altough they start out as corpses, Dr Wests serum actually does successfully restart all physical processes, meaning they are alive again. The problem is that they invariably revive as screaming, psychotic madmen because no matter how "fresh" the specimen was, being revived from the dead was such a traumatic experience that all of Wests victims awoke as inhuman monsters.

Which, of course, West refused to accept.

So he actually DID revive them back to actually-alive again, it's just that no one can comprehend such an unnatural process because oh my god no.

The story never gives a full explanation, but it's implied to be a combination of brain damage, which even the shortest time of death will cause, the brain being too complex to revive as successfully as the rest of the body which is a relatively straightforward biological machine, and the sheer trauma of being brought back from the dead. Ironically, one of Wests most successfull creation, which eventually killed him, was a military scientist who got decapitated in WW1 and his head and body revived separatly. He stll became a remorseless killer but he was lucid unlike most of the other creations.

I mean, the lack of oxygen to your brain is the reason brain damage happens internally, so that's never going to work out unless you make some incredible oxidisation process or just straight-up magic.
