Shy, insecure, sometimes depressed, and often rejected; Spencer comes from a section of the galaxy where he is prosecuted for his species. He needs love and attention (andlotsoffood). Will you give it to him? ;w; Once you break through to him he's an incredibly sweet and caring individual who'll do just about anything in his power to help the folks he likes.
Spencer is a yet unnamed prey species that are extremely prolific reproducers with very fast metabolisms. The result? They are resource heavy and can quickly drain a planets natural resources. They're normally not too bright either, just eating (a lot) and being eaten. They're omnivorous and scavengers, though prefer fresh fruit. They have a very quick/efficient digestive system with a large crop area in their midsection. Fruits are consumed as rapidly as possible, usually getting swallowed whole and stored in the crop. Fruits can then be squeezed up and into the belly as needed. Small rodents and birds are also fair game for this treatment if they can be caught!
Because of their locust like tendencies, they're subject to much scrutiny and hatred; there are some races that will simply kill them on sight, but most simply shun them and refuse to serve or talk to them. This generally suits most of the population just fine as they tend to stick together in large 'swarms', consuming resources without abandon until there's nothing left. But some (like Spencer) have more respect for the environment and do their absolute best to lead normal lives without being destructive. Unfortunately, they still face persecution so many flee into the deeper reaches of space, looking for outposts or planets far enough away from their species' home territory so that they're not recognized.
Spencer is one of these such nomads, having resurrected an old personal space cruiser from a junk yard, he set out in search of a planet where he could live without persecution. It's a journey that will take many years, leave him stranded in plenty of shady space ports in need of ship repairs, and introduce him to plenty of rude and unsavory people as he struggles to keep his ship in one piece. Won't you say hi? He needs all the friendship he can get! ;w;
