I would fill them with dirt and use it as a garden planters. I've seen it done with tractor tires.

Many folks used to make kitsch art out of them... things like swans and such. I have even seen walls and fences made of dirt or concrete filled tyres.

We used to bind or bolt old tyres together in layers and use 'em for reinforcing dam banks or use smaller ones as a base under sand-drift prove tracks. Nowadays it is frowned upon as councils and green groups claim it could pollute the environment... oddly none have been able to produce any scientific studies or data to back it up but this has not stopped them issuing fines and cleanup notices if they believe you have used this technique in the past. Our local council by-laws officer actually had workers destroy three of our dam walls to 'expose' the supposed evidence. Pity none of these had been reinforced that way and it took months and threats of legal action for them to rectify the mess. (Said officer has since been sacked for other abuses of his powers)

The good old Mitsu Max (L200/Triton to us over here) was a pretty robust and good value ute. Many here only had the 2.6L 4 but a few folks ponyed up the quids for the 3.0L V6 and few regretted it. My brother still has two mid 80s ones actively at work on his farm.

I could... load them up with about a quart of gasoline each and set fire to them on my neighbors' front yard. Except they'd probably come out with sticks and hotdogs and have a weenie roast...
