He is an adopt from
DarkyRey
Arif grew up on the streets for the first decade of his life. He and his sister learned to survive off the rivers and hand outs until they got old enough to be considered a problem. The little family was split up as a result of laws meant to prevent assembly, which were often used for convenient purposes, and Arif found himself in the custody of lioness called Ife.
Ife was to be his new 'mother' but she hardly had the same love and care for him as his real mother did. Even though they lived on the streets and despite his good fortune to now have a house over his head, food and somewhere comfortable to sleep the young boy never felt happy and free like he did before. Still, he was young and did as he was told. He listened more than he talked, saw more than he was seen and spent more time in his own mind than there.
It is true to say that he missed his family. He knew that the stern teachings and harsh ways of the lioness were meant, in her own weird way, to change him. It turned out to be too hard to take the streets out of this young Dhole and his quick wits, nimble feet and working knowledge of the ins and outs of the city allowed him to get into a lot of trouble. You see, he knew he didn't belong where he was but by some twisted weave of fate he found himself mingling between the upper class and lower classes of his home city, Klenor.
One moment he was dragged along as the adopted son of wealthy mistress of coast side inns around the cold Northern region, to meet with the wealthy and powerful tigers, leopards and lions of Klenor's upper class. In his free time, much to his 'mother's' displeasure he found himself in the more seedy places. They each knew him well. The wealthy friends of his feline mother found him useful in some ways and the others found him capable of gaining the trust of figures that wouldn't have otherwise have raised their heads to acknowledge their presence.
Of course that meant that it wouldn't take long for the teenager to become valuable as more than a curiosity, errant boy or friend with special rights. The streets taught him when to talk and when to keep his mouth shut and he quickly learned the intricacies of being something exotic, mingling with older, bigger, rich predators and business. Access to the seedier parts of the city, the ability to eavesdrop and mingle with the wealthy as a trusted tag-along made him approachable by many sorts.
By now Arif himself was beginning to build his own ambitions, a predatory drive to find his own way through this jungle of social and class dynamics, knowing full well that even though he was the adopted son, thrust into the upper echelons by lady luck, he could tell in their interactions that he couldn't rise any higher than the place of his birth.. at least until, taken along on business to the icy summer piers, he met the owner of the Northern Trading Company.
The cunning jackal, Kahani, offered him an opportunity.. and through his actions a nation would fall.
