The Dragon Sleeps Tonight (Lion King Remake)
Wow...there really ARE a lot of live-action things coming out in the future...
Money grab. Seriously. That and politics probably. Essh....I feel so bad for the non-humanoids. I SAW what htey did to Iago. That macaw got SUCH a disservice. And they're going to make a sequel? HOW? The main character is a sub-serviant five-word-spouter!

Uh uh uh. LIVE-action Rigel. This is a Lion King REmake, not a live-action. Ya need something LIVING to make it under that category, and they don't. It's CGI to the max.
Ohh...guess that's true. But how's it seem?
Eh. Dunno. It's...interesting. I mean, I don't know HOW many only-CGI films there are. I mean animation is technically it's own department, but ya get what I mean.
Ermmm...expressions probably take a hit...and it needs to be more vibrant. I've seen a contrast upping in a post somewhere....the scenes look bland....it's like got a Fallout filter on heh heh heh.
So still prefer the original?

Yeah, a lot of these live action remakes (or just remakes in this case) fail to match the good stuff of the originals, just ask Nostalgia Critic. Then again, I really shouldn't support Disney at all due to their stupid tampering with the Public Domain, but don't worry yourself with such nonsense like that.

All I can say is, I more or less lost interested as soon as the most emotion part of the movie had a character very obviously crying based on the tone of their voice, but they were so dedicated to photorealism, they didn't let the character cry or even droop their eyes.
On a sillier note. Lets be honest, changing a dozen lizard diapers has to be easier than changing just one lion diaper after a hunt.

Is it really a spoiler if it's a remake?? Anyhoo....jeez, I remember that scene. That was Pixar-emotion quality stuff then! Wondered how they were going to handle it in the remake...and looks like....not well...

This reminds of the "Once Upon a Timon" episode from the Timon & Pumbaa series where Zazu shirks answering a call from Simba saying that 'he probably just needs his diaper changed'. The hornbill's tone suggests he's being sarcastic but the mention of diapers makes one wonder. Perhaps its only royalty that get diapers when their young in the pride lands and when we first meet Simba at the beginning of the movie he's already potty trained.
Nevertheless this new pic totally beats the previous Aladdin pic you did. To have your favorite Disney bird character change your wet diaper while you sleep. You're a lucky dragon Azul...even if you didn't know what was going on heh heh

Ooooohhhh yeeeeaaahh....now I remember! Well, I guess that show was kind of off the walls with a 'take it with a grain of salt' type of comedy. Still though...a Lion King comic DID refer to Zazu as a babysitter...and lets face it, he kind of was a guardian to Nala and Simba. I suppose if there were any diapers in the Savannah to deal with, Zazu probably had to be the one to do it.
Actually, the person Iago was referring to in that apparently WAS Zazu. Guess it makes sense since the two later worked together in that Tiki Hutt thing...so guess they have some kind of rapport. Huh, funny...I seem to recall Iago was dressed in a diaper himself at some point...maybe that's how Zazu knows...

Iago dressed in a diaper!?!...How did I miss that? Must have been in one of the Aladdin tv series episodes which I have on a list of animated shows I still need to watch.
If there were diapers in the African Savannah I'd imagine they'd be large banana leaves wrapped about the cub's waists, not the usual comfy padded mags Azul luckily gets to enjoy

Yes poor Zazu indeed. Too bad a cargo plane didn't fly over the Savannah and accidently drop a shipment of diapers like in that one episode of All Hail King Julien. Though unlike the lemurs who figured out how to make more diapers the lion pride would have quickly run out of padding. (In case you're wondering the episode was aptly named "Diapers are the New Black")

I think I get why Az likes the bird though. People seem to forget he was shielding those cubs from the hyenas, readily made to sacrifice himself for them. And in that Lion Guard show, he actually put himself in a croc's MOUTH for a similar issue. Jeez...and Simba treated him a lot like dirt as a kid? Wow...

Ah if only the hornbill was as intimidating as Mufasa then the lion cub might have listened to him, guess you can't expect much given that Simba had some self entitlement issues when he was young and also bigger in size than the bird advisor.
Weird yes, but I still like it...if only for the reason everyone (Julien included) were ignorant of the garments true purpose. Although I'm sure the lemur king figured out at some point of the episode that diapers are convenient for going to the bathroom in, though this was never shown on screen. And yeah if Azul saw that he'd probably think 'what is wrong with cartoons these days?'. However if he loaded that episode into the holo-deck he could attend a party in his current attire and be praised and celebrated rather than drawing weird looks and ridicule.
I was disappointed that All Hail King Julien didn't have an AR episode since the one for penguins of madagascar kinda of fell flat. Seeing baby Skipper was cute but I would have loved to see a diapered baby Julien.

Yeaaaahhh...Az doesn't really like entitled-thinking people much, whichI guess is why he gravitated toward the more blue-collar Zazu. Which is weird, cause in the original, and the new one, he risks his life for the cub and even has some parental feelings for him deep down.

I watched the episode including the diapered Iago scene, of which I managed to take some excellent screencaps of for my collection. Shame the parrot was only in a diaper on screen for a few seconds before he angrily ripped it off along with his bonnet. That was a nice touch by Genie to give him that along with a baby bottle Though I feel bad for poor Iago smashing into that wall like he did.
