A Soft Spot for Soft Things [Trash Drawing]

So, my trash drawing series isn't quite as dead as I said it would be. As it turns out, the changes in my day job's dress code still allow for me to wear equipment that is more than capable of carrying my pens and the cardboard scraps! That means the series isn't quite dead... though I have been having a lot of trouble finding the time, ideas, and motivation to make new drawings in recent months. Perhaps I should lay off of my characters and focus on something else?
...Sharon during her adult years is... well, she's hardly the most pleasant individual to deal with and has been through a lot, but even she has her softer moments and Melee is more than happy to savor those moments when Sharon isn't angry at something (or someone). Looks like she's taken a liking to Melee's armor... I guess after countless nights sleeping on the ground, you really learn to appreciate the feel of something soft.
Decided to give it another go with the character dialogue, though it doesn't really tell off much about the characters this time, aside from Melee's stutter (no, it's not a speech impediment, he's just really shy and not good with interactions). I've come to really like showing off these two together... helps me figure out how their friendship works, thought there's still a lot of room for development.
Since I wanted to draw the two together, I thought it'd be best to draw a pose with them interacting with each other... it's one thing to draw the two characters in a picture together, but to draw the two interacting with one another is a whole other challenge... and the more intimate the interaction, the trickier it can get. At least, that's how it is for me, anyway... I think I did an okay job here, if only because the canvas size meant I was unable to show off more of the character's bodies. Well, I'm sure I'll get other oppertunities.
...
Not much else to say about this one, but if you have something to say about it, feel free to leave a comment and let me know!

...
Part of my "Trash Drawing" series, in which I take advantage of the quieter moments of my day job to sketch stuff out using whatever supplies are available to me (read: random pens and cardboard scraps). Due to the rushed nature of these drawings, coupled with their canvas being a literal piece of garbage, I have thus taken to calling these sketches "Trash Drawings."
BONUS
First Draft
The initial hugging sketch, in which their hug was a bit more tender-looking. It was pretty rough, which is why I chose not to continue working on this particular version, but still... I would like to explore the two having such a moment again some day.
