I don't think this is unfortunate at all. Quite the improvement in fact.
Art Note: I appreciate the way you draw the legs and feet. Feral, animalistic, but just enough adaptation for anthro characters as well. AND you give them the double fused inside claw! That's a touch many artists miss.
