let me summarise in a humorous manner
matilda: i am sad + do not want to be a nun
irwin: let us go in the mines i have a plan (also i am a demon and subjected to fantasy racism)
matilda: ok
irwin: i am going to steal your powers now, it will make a bit more sense in ten years

Huh? So I didn't misunderstand the story? This is the way it was? Good to know, heh, but .... isn't this storyline about the fairies? Regardless of that, not mentioning fairies at all doesn't seem to change a thing about it. Technically only Daena and Irwin entered Fairy world. Pretty underwhelming!
