I think this is another piece that mostly speaks for itself. I also think I can trust most of the readers to be able to suss out the majority of the cultural and artistic references in the piece. :)

Man this is like a mix of stuff that always gets to me due to my anxiety (part I which I really feel and know all too well) and part II where that terror becomes so real while reading or thinking about it yet you almost can't stop yourself. I was just mentioning to a friend the other day about how when reading the Gunslinger series there were moments in it where the terror was surreal. It's never the cliche killer clown stuff that gets to me. It's always the walking through an abandoned Lincoln tunnel or through an abandoned city or through a miles long ancient tunnel (I've always had a thing against tunnels for some reason).
He's so good at setting a certain mood and for some reason I used to get absorbed by it. I'd reread his stuff just to feel it. It's the same kind of thing that causes me to play Bethesda's Fallout games. It's a terror and anxiety that taps into something primal. Kinda like what this poem does. Thanks for the heads up. I like it.
