The lesson here is that it's probably a good idea to stab yourself a lot in order to build up areas of protective scar tissue in case of actual eventual stab-related issues.
There were actually some old-timey showmen who pierced themselves repeatedly through a safe(-ish) area to build up a tunnel of internal scar tissue, which they would then use as a means to "safely" run themselves through with a blade on stage for money because humans are weird like that sometimes

... congratulations, you have apparently had to do this exact injury enough times for it to become relatively safe for you.
I think you either need to consider a different job, or just make an obvious "stab me here" mark on your uniform to make sure they keep hitting that spot.
I don't know how often Kass has somehow been in this exact same situation, but it is at least two too many times.

-bites fist- I won't ship them I won't ship them I won't ship them I won't ship them I won't....hhhhnnnnNNNGH.
Mostly kidding. I do so dearly appreciate their friendship, but I am the worst, most hopeless romantic that I know, so it's hHHHHAAAAARD NOT TO DO THE THING. DAMMET. Again, I am so relieved. You really know how to write a comic that rips my heart out, stomps on it, and brings it back from the brink multiple times. Thanks for that.

As someone who is 100% delighted whenever people tell me 'your writing made me feel sad/mad etc.', I feel like this is the most accurate way to describe my/other folks' comments. And I accept that burden.
Seriously though, I do appreciate what you bring and that you're willing to share it with all of us.

I remember when I got my wisdom teeth removed, I was put under that "laughing gas" as they call it. As I was under the chemical's influence, I remember finding the word "teabags" funny for some reason. Anyway…
At first glance, I thought that nurse was indicating something else with his fingers. Anyway…
It's that magical moment where I get siked to read the newest installment to my favorite comic. Yippie! I was going to link the "Oh, ho, ho, it's magic" song, but quite frankly my internet is sucking, and I don't have the patience to wait for a stupid page to load. :(

iv sedation on wisdom teeth at end of it after everything un hooked thank God nurse said time to go and I got up out of the chair and started walking in dream state or sleep walking and then feld my mind shift from the dream trance to physical mind and then went crashing to floor had enough control to push my self instinct wise away from the chair I was going to land on scared the living crap out fo nurse as well XD
I had nitrous oxide for my wisdom teeth. I hallucinated that I was a space explorer, the dentist's light was a spiral galaxy and the dentist was a giant monster caterpillar attacking my face. Understand, I have been a lifelong voracious reader and watcher of science fiction.
Okay maybe it was little much for Kas to hit the doc with that nasty rag, but how did he figure starting with 'I'm sorry' after finishing a potentially life-threatening surgery wouldn't worry them.
Admittingly, I'm having a hard time determining if Yinglet noses just happen to be sensitive to touch, sensitive to strong smells such as blood, or Kas is just bothered by having a bloody hand on her face. Either way, it does look kinda funny.

So as someone who only just today read through every page of this comic in one sitting...
Holy hell. Now I see why everybody loves yinglets now.
I thought it was just a dumb meme that caught on, but this series is incredible. You invented entire new species, but actually put thought into their lives and culture. You actually made me want to learn more as I read. And rather than this being a yinglet series that's all yinglets all the time, you went to the effort to make an actual WORLD, that the yinglets are just part of.
You were already ONE of my favourite artists and storytellers thanks to the Lusty Argonian Maid series, but I think now that was a gross underestimation on my part. Never stop, good sir. You are truly one of the greatest storytellers of our age and you deserve SO much more attention than you're getting.

Heck yeah! Super glad to hear you're a fan! I went through the same process myself and had pretty much the same reaction. :D Val is a freaking artistic genius (as well as an all-around awesome person) and the fans are wonderful and amazing and passionate and heck yeah.
Welcome on board!
Welcome on board!
Maaan, that's some high praise, thanks!
I think a big reason that a lot of the elements in this story have come together well is, like you said, I set out to create a setting that would complement the sort of story I wanted to tell, rather than start with a character or species or single idea, and build the world around that.
In any case, I'm just happy that this story, and my personal visual storytelling style, have been able to provide some people with a fun experience so far! And boy do I like the idea of continuing to do so for a long time. : D

Suddenly the snout grab, the smell of blood and the stressful day make Kass enter some kind of frenzy and he/she tries to bite the head surgeon as an additional punishment for his conversation skills. At least for 10 to 15 seconds, then exhaustion kicks in.
Yet I thing this would overdo it. The surgeon probably did suffer enough for one day.
I was hoping Elim would be fine. He's too important to die, yet this isnt's necessarily a reason for a character so stay alive.
And as long as all other possible causes of chaos and destruction (like the risk of Yannit loosing her sanity, for example) don't kick in, Elim might actually have a chance to recover.
I'm always looking forward for the next page of this story.
Oh, and I really like the additional info stuff like the Val Salian Regional Field Guide in between. It adds a lot of depth to the world you created ^^

Pain is something we learn from. It is a sign of weakness leaving the body. It's also fleeting.
Suffering is the result of avoiding pain and ignoring it's lessons.
It's what pursues the former and can last forever.
My old drill-sergeant said that when I was at Ft. Knox and it came to mind reading this panel (well it's come to mind several times over the years).
