while some showers have that part working as a all-in-one.. others have the shower up top and a smaller piece (that can be like that one) to assist washing where a shower is hard to reach (often where flow intenisty / pressure is needed as in opposed to just letting water wash down)..

Never understood those double ones when they don't let you use both at once. You can try but the pressure will be really bad

I never underestood why the small ones... unless as a shower mic... or to help clean the "ceramic tiles" (azulejos)...

...and pondering about it.. I am sure I could disassemble one, then get the right parts, and make sure the pressure was even... with enough height for water to get a good pressure plus a large pipe for good flow.... yes... I guess I could make it work... ^.^
..and yes, it lingered in the back of my mind for over a day...

I think it depends on comfort: hotels have more often than not the possibility to use both types of showers, in order to fit the needs for all. I, for example, always use the small one so as to reach every part of my body, which is harder with a fixed shower on top, and I can also concentrate on each part of the body, one at a time.

there are certain showers that have a fixed head installed above (Rain shower) and a second one to get nice and wet everywhere for the hand. Piccy is plausible I got such a shower and its glorious.
