I decided to do Inktober this year, though only every other day. Todays art: The Clock, one of the earliest known superheroes, published by the long-defunct Centaur Comics. You'll be seeing a few of their guys this month.
And yes, he really did wear a mask like this which mostly covered his face except for the bottom of his chin. You want to blame someone, blame George Brenner, but he's been dead for almost 70 years.

I'd be surprised if you had, he's been used as a surprise character by different companies a few times over the decades, but not as a main character since the 1940's. DC did own the character when they bought out Quality Comics, but they never renewed the copyright, so he, and most of the other Centaur Comics characters, are public domain now.
