Not really furry art but relevant to my work. This is the ‘Chipmunk’ the ship the unfortunate Kathleen was assigned to command and fix. It’s a ‘J’ class courier ship used to carry important messages and cargoes. I’m using the ‘Lost fleet’ tec logic of ‘A message shot out of a transmitter will only go at the speed of light, a ship with a hyper-drive will go faster than that.’ I am aware that there are technologies and methods to bypass the lightspeed restriction on communications, but they aren’t available in the universe my stories are set in.
Plus I quite like the more mundane aspects of sifi, in any online space sim I’m the one ignoring combat and missions to float near an asteroid field an do a little mining.
