I must admit, I was very surprised by Mark. He was NOT what I was expecting at all. Since the beginning I was certain that Emily's boyfriend would be a jock of some kind. You know, like a big, cartoonishly dumb football player or some guy on the swim team who obsesses over his physique or maybe even a rich preppy snob who can't go five minutes without looking at himself in the mirror (think of the character "Troy" from "The Goonies").

I certainly wasn't expecting the shy, lovable loser kid that looks (and kinda acts) like....well....quite frankly....ME at the age of fourteen!
Seriously! Mark looks like a shorter, skinnier, cartoon version of me in my freshman year! Same hair, same clothes, except for an open, untucked flannel over the tee shirt (it was the early 90's after all!).

Amazing. Mark is basically fourteen year old me. The only thing he's missing is the glasses!

oh, but mark isnt her boyfriend, he was the guy she liked, we will see her actual boyfriend in chapter 2!

Words can't describe how super funny, adorable, and how much I love this page! I really love Mark's and Emily's awkward chemistry of having a crush on each other before Emily made it on the cheerleading team, but it never work out. I really hope that they will fall in love and be a couple in the future, because they are too funny and adorable together, especially when they are blushing and Mark is helping Emily to change her diapers, lol. I love how they are both shy, the close up of Emily's cute padded butt, Emily's cute diaper design, and how Emily is climbing up the baby changing station the best! I really love Emily's cute diaper color and style, I always love a closeup view of Emily's cute padded butt in the bottom panel (and you should definitely do more of those closeup views of Emily's and Ms. Softbottom's padded butts because I love that view and think that is the cutest view ever for these two cuties), I really love how Emily is climbing up the baby changing station, but I think that Mark might need to push Emily up to help Emily climb up to the top of the baby changing station because it looks like to me that Emily is having some trouble climbing up because of her big cute padded butt, lol! That would be super cute if that did happen and would build chemistry for both of them, lol.
