I'm not 100% sure, but I was thinking his urgent business was updating the Trademaster about the attack on Kass and Elim. While having been ordered to gather those who know about the attack, such a task is more likely to be delegated to lackies further down the chain. I figured he's been ordered to keep an eye on Kass and Elim expressly to pay attention to potential psychological damge.
Part of me wondered if this would be the natural direction that Elim's state would lead to. Another part of me really hoped it would, for the hilarity and adorableness of it.
I'm also surprised to see another comic so soon. My tendency to check valsalia.com daily has finally borne fruit. Though I probably shouldn't do so daily. I'll eventually be driven insane.

That's absolutely adorable. There's nothing to be ashamed of there - after the sheer volume of manure Kass has been through - never mind his friend - this would be just heavenly. My affectionate ginger derp cat certainly thinks so.

Good! Now that Isher is awake, she can stop Yannit before she kills somebody as I imagine Isher is the only one strong enough to hold the indrel back.
As for our lil' fluffy friend, my condolences. The humiliation is strong with this one. Kass must feel pretty weak in his buddies grasp. However, I can't see why Kass would mind the petting; in comparison to a human, that has to be like getting a massage, if anything else.

Some of it is actually a reflex they have when they are cubs/kittens. The wild animals (such as the big cats) grow out of it. Domestics are bred to stay childlike, so things such as a cat's meow and the "elevator butt" reflex persist into adulthood.
But even socialized big cats can have their weak spots for scritches. (I don't work there, but that comes straight out of Big Cat Rescue). It just isn't necessarily the tailbase. :>

She was startled. It's not exactly an everyday occurrence that a non-yinglet would go straight for her tailbase. But right after the startle, that's when the feelings kicked in... and pretty soon the only thing Kass could concentrate on was the pleasure. :>

Ahem: while walking the wastes of such places Kass would look for a cure, he came upon Garnu Thorsonn, or rather Garnu found zir. Zhe had a walk around such as the home Garnu came to know, his birthplace, meandered about that Garnu took his form, down to Kass' level. Upon such amazement of shapeshifing, Garnu (yes, I'm speaking in third person for a reason)gave Kass some of zis pipe weed(tobacco) which Kass marvelled at smoking it.....
The rest I cannot divulge as that night was of my meeting of Kass.
