Wherein I sneak in an extra album review and totally pull a Yahtzee. I also wax long on soundtracks, a rant I'd been saving up for just such an occasion. And it comes in under 10 minutes, yay!

OKAY I've got it. One live album that is totally wroth hearing, and actually better than ANY of their studio albums, is "stop making sence" by the talking heads
Mostly because on the albums the songs are under-arranged.
In the concert, they add harmonies, like 4 percussionists, and an extra 2 guitars.
It's epic!!! and the best versions of all of the songs on the albums.
I mean, the original "take me to the river" is a snore fest
the one on this LIVE album is friggin gorgeous and exciting, all because of a faster tempo and some harmonies

Back when I was more active in the anime fandom (which wasn't very, to be honest), Hikaru Utada made otaku squee like no other. Everyone loved her, like everyone loved Nobuo Uematsu (the guy behind the Final Fantasy soundtracks). I listened to her and wasn't impressed, but the sheer amount of SUGOI DESU KAWAII shovelled her way turned what would have been a general distaste into outright bullheaded hatred. :B
I'm fairly indifferent to her. However, I can empathize, I was a well entrenched "Otaku" around the time Kingdom Hearts came out, and she was being pushed everywhere. I enjoy some of her work, especially when I can distance it from the games it was very badly tacked on to.
I know I have similar biases, where things I may dislike, turn into hatreds thanks to just how fervently people want to push it, or fight for its absolute acceptance by everyone.
