An old old old OLD character of mine, from long before I was drawing furry art. With a slightly updated character design now that I can draw for shit, of course.
He has quite a lot of backstory, along with the two other main characters in his sadly-unfinished comic. If anyone remembers the slimy black ghost of depression that used to hang around behind Blueballs in my old pics, that was one of their main villains.
His name was originally Birando but I think Biran sounds better.
Ok backstory here that probably no one cares about, feel free to skip:
The Lutpoldings are a prestigious demonic family. Important to the story is the Baron, his son (Lawrence), and the Baron's brother Wilf (a Senator).
Traditionally, they have powerful bodyguards. Wanting to give his son the best possible guard as a status symbol, the Baron arranged for the kidnapping of a young child (Biran) from an infamous tribe of warrior monks.
Biran was then linked to Lawrence through a powerful demonic ritual. To control Biran's soul, the Baron sealed off the spirit flame on his forehead (having no flame on your forehead is a mark of great shame in the demonic world), which made it weaker. The helmet Biran wears hides the scar caused by this seal.
Not about to let this kidnapping stand, the monks repeatedly attacked Castle Lutpolding to retrieve Biran. Despite their skill, and Lutpolding's reputation as a pampered noble, he managed to kill them all and raise them as zombies for his personal army.
As a result of the ritual, Biran will now protect Lawrence with his life, and as a side-effect he is madly, but unrequitedly, in love with him as well. However, with his soul sealed Biran is also quite cold and aloof. He knows of the Baron's crimes, but keeps them a secret from Lawrence to protect him.
In the comic, Biran and Lawrence escape with the help of the titular character Bob. During this, Biran steals the brand (in the picture) that sealed his flame and uses it on the Baron; this weakens him and he loses control of Biran's tribe, who return to being corpses. The Baron tries to kill the three of them, but Wilf stops him and suffers a severe injury as a result. The three young demons flee into the human world to escape the Baron.
