Lupo and Cannizorro, the two inept acolytes, are spoofs of Abbott and Costello.
I once did a cartoon script with the two set in Roman times, called "Lion Through Your Teeth."
Think of the two cats from "A Tale of Two Kitties," only the tall one is a wolf, and the short one, a fox.
