You know you're getting old when you realize Neopets turns 20 this year... Yep, you heard me right! 20!
Neopets was a huge part of my childhood back in the 2000s, and I still visit it from time to time because deep down I miss it and want it to make a comeback one day. But most importantly, this virtual pet world has helped me through some difficult times in my life, especially through my middle school years. I know it sounds dumb, but when half the school, including teachers, bullies you and you're forced to move to a new town miles away from your only friends, sometimes playing dozens of games to earn virtual prizes to spoil a pastel colored creature on your computer screen is the only thing that can keep you from ending it all.
Despite the challenges it has faced over the years, Neopets has always been there for me and many others. Thank you so much for everything you do, Neopets. You have literally saved my life and inspired me to express my creativity and seek out adventure every day. Here's to 20 more years!
