I was excited that you uploaded something... THEN I REALISED WHO YOU DREW. I hope I didn't disturb the people downstairs by jumping up and down excitedly.
The first thing I notice is how childlike they look here. Most people (and I'm guilty of this too) depict them as sharp, serious, and harsh, which is a facet of them, but this naive and soft look also is very close to my identity. The way you drew the gnarled bones and skin folds is fantastic, as well as the scruffy feathers and slumped, jagged posture. They look so knobbly and real, like I could reach out and grab them.
The atmosphere is lovely, as it is in all of your art. It reminds me of the womb-like red room that Henry appears in towards the end of Silent Hill 4. This is definitely a deep, subconscious place. Is this animated or is my monitor just acting weird? My laptop often renders dark colours as if they're breathing, but it's so distinct here that I'm not sure.
Oh man, I always wanted to see my characters in your style - I was going to ask for a trade at some point, but never got around to it. I need to finally draw a full piece for you...

HNNRGH!! I'm so happy that you like it boog! You really deserved some gift art, you've made me a few things in the past and i wanted to return some of that favor uwu <3
During the outlining phase, I did actually try to give you that same sharp and harsh look about your facial anatomy. But I was lacking the experience to really build an anatomical structure similar to yours. You've got a great way of combing your feathers in your art to accentuate gaunty expressions; and I always just cell-shade my characters and hope that i can bend my beak enough to look like it's suppose the be there lmao. BUT im happy to see you took appreciation in this more naive look, despite it being kinda unintended. It may also be the large iris i gave you here. I was tempted to make your eye washed out with the nictitating membrane and maybe that would've given this a different presence~ Still, this won't be the last time i give Null a try :)
In regards to the SH4 atmosphere, i can kinda see that! I promise i won't stab you with any holy mother spears or rub my umbilici cord on you.. alright well, maybe a little..
