Contrary to the last page, where I spent ages writing and rewriting and then cutting most of the dialogue, I didn’t even have to script this page. I moved right to thumbnailing the layout, letting the visuals tell the story. That really helped give me the freedom to choose what to put in each panel. I used Trom’s trajectory in the middle panel to guide the eye across and down to the bottom row. “Leading the eye around the page” is comic-making 101, but I still feel like an amateur on that point.
