Investigating some more inky tactics for a more graphic novelly approach. I always struggle with digital inks and I took a good portion of the day today doing light doodles traditionally to see what I DO like. Big fan of the lighter, ballpointy or fineliner look, and india ink washes or even a little bit of dry media like pastel or watercolour thrown in. So whipped up a light 30 minute ish "ink" to see how it'd look.
Naturally if this were a full final things would be more pulled together, but I love the texture of crosshatching and loose noodles for scales and spontaneous texture. Using some overlays and some watercolour-ey brushes for light, shadow and base tones. with ink wash textures in the background and looser light, and some texturey- final touch brushes for funsies.
Step in the right direction for me! Though of course I'm not sure what y'all think.
I do like a more graphics designy element of these: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27981300/
But I feel it can lose a bit of that... personality. I don't know. Perhaps I'm overthinking that too!
Anywho, I digress. Enjoy~
