This guy was scary as F when I was young. And he still looks badass today. I can't fathom how he'd look if he was drawn under today's more... timid standards. No way he'd be as grand and imposing looking.

Yea NO... With today's watering down of everything there's no way "The Great Owl" would be as imposing as he should be, and was, in the classic.

Scaring the little kiddies is NOT allowed these days. :P
