Acrylics, 9" x 16" ...will be in the Furry Fiesta art show.
Please check out the close-up here...the small version gives the fur no justice: http://myenia.deviantart.com/art/Th.....seup-153966095
I think I do better fur with paint than I do with digital media. I'm really proud of this one, even though I'm a little concerned its a bit boring. Maybe I'll go back and add more blood. Or something.

Yeah, there's plenty of blood.
I'd do a poster in the background, like an event poster for whatever fight he just became champion of. To give the impression of a storyline. He's gorgeous, but the "boring"ness comes from lack of context, not shortage of bodily fluids.
(And I like your digital fur texture just as much!)
I think the massive quantity of visible whiskers is my favorite part. Too many people neglect whiskers on canines.

I'm not interested in adding a background. Aside from the fact that would ruin the hairs around the "edges" of his body...I was trying to make it like how he's probably experiencing it. He's got a strong spotlight or flash on him, which generally when you're on a stage or any similar setting, anything not well-lit gets lost in the blackness.
I'm a frequent rejecter of suggestions myself. There's no way to describe everything you were/are thinking about a piece you did just in the artist comment section.
This piece IS really amazing as is. I probably wouldn't have made any sort of suggestion if you hadn't expressed your not-entirely-satisfied feelings about it.
Though I still stand by my "there's a perfect amount of blood right now" opinion. ;)

You can't earn the title of champion if you don't get bloodied.
Like others say, the amount of blood is good. It's not like you can show bruising too well with fur. I suppose you could give him a few lumps or bend a couple of whiskers.
Unless you expand the background and give him a setting, or at least a wardrobe, it's hard to add points of interest. Maybe add a background but leave it out of focus? Give him a wrestling champion belt?

Thanks! The fact that you can't show sweat, bruises, etc made it difficult.

I love the amazing amout of detail you put into this, I can only imagine how much effort and time you put into this piece. I personally like the lack of background as this puts him in the spotlight..the original is currently hanging proudly on my wall. I snaged it at AC :)
As always, beautiful work!

(way old comment but i had too) I got this for $100, HUGE steal! Anyone that got to close at the tail end of the art show that year i gave them my nefarious look of doom..i just said 'No. Seriously no. Its mine'
Only one person laughed and challenged me and i replied smilling deviously, 'You wanna get butt nekkid n wrestle!?'
And thus, in my own way, i became the champ ;)
