He seems like someone that is used to getting sex pretty often, so it must be a hard adjustment (pun!) for him. Maybe he's even feeling unwanted because he's used to people wanting him specifically for that, so he's left thinking Winston isn't interested in him at all? Not that I think that's the case, but that perhaps that's where his mind is going.
