Name: Ephraim Huit
Location: Windsor, CT
Date: 1644
Carver: George and/or Matthew Griswold
So unless there's a double-posting I need to get rid of, this is my 2000th posting!
So for this one I thought I'd post a special one- the oldest authenticated gravestone in New England.
The epitaph for the "SOMETIME TEACHER TO YE CHVURCH OF WINDSOR" reads:
"who when hee lived, wee drew our vitall breath
who when hee dyed, his dying was our death
who was ye stay of State ye Churches Staff
Alas the times forbides an Epitaph."
