Matthew scrounged up enough money and traded it at the store for two quarters.
"Now we just need a place to meet at." He said to his shadow on the ground, "What would you recommend?"
"Somewhere easier to spot but has enough business to stay seen and safe." Brian said, "Local Library for example."
"Then how do we-"
"I got this." Lass said, taking control of Matthew near instant, "When in doubt, ask." She had Matthew walk over to a passing stranger "Pardon me, Lad, but do you know where the library is?"
The fox just looked at Matthew for a moment, his expression a bit puzzled.
"I be new around here, so I just am tryin' ta get me barin's." Lass said
"Why are you trying to sound like a woman?" The fox said, and walked off before Lass could answer
"This could be difficult with how you talk." Brian said beneath Matthew, "You got the accent, but your making his tone of voice so soft and high like your pretending to be a woman."
Lass had Matthew look down at the shadow, "Brian, I know Matt's a guy, but I be a lass. How am I suppose to help thae?"
"The at least pretend your a guy" Brian said, "Deepen the voice at at least."
Lass let out a hard sigh, but had Matthew nod and walk to a few other people, but she must have not gotten it right, because they'd just walk away from her with funny looks.
"Y'know, this just isn't workin'. I'm gonna do it like I use to." Lass said, "Just speakin' soft, y'know?"
"Be my guest," Brian said, "I got knowledge, but it doesn't come with skill."
Lass tried one more time, Having Matthew go up to a goat, "Pardon me, Sir, Could you help me?" She asked,
"It depends." The goat said and looked at Matthew.
"I'm new 'round here, and tryin' te meet some friends." Lass said, "Could you help me find the library?"
"The library.." The goat started to ponder, "I've lived here a while and passed it... Let me think."
Lass had Matthew stand there and listen, but then she heard a growl. Looking around, She saw nothing, but it was clearly looming by. "C-could ye hurry?" Lass asked, "I dont wanna be late."
"Just a... Oh!" The goat exclaimed, "Yeah, it's across from the park, Just two blocks down and take a right, You find the park, you find the library. It'll be easy."
"Thank you, Laddy." Lass smiled and then had Matthew run as The growling got louder in his head.
"That was close, way too close." Brain said, as Matthew's shadow followed, "We need to approach this differently than list time to be safe. The First could show up, Muggers could show up while we're waiting, Anything. We have to be careful."
"So... what's the plan?" Lass asked
